The school arranged an educational trip to Agra for the Primary and Middle section students of class V to VIII who were also accompanied by their teachers. They enjoyed an extensive tour to Agra city with a visit to the world famous Taj Mahal, the finest example of Mughal Architecture that combines elements from Persian, Turkish and Indian architectural styles. Visit to Agra fort and Fatehpur Sikri, added a great deal to the students knowledge of historical background and acquainted them better with the rich heritage of India. The visit to the Agra Fort was truly rewarding. Students had loads of fun and enjoyed every bit of their tour. Day 1: 30th September: Amidst smiles, excitement and chatter we left school early in the morning at 6:00 a.m. The children were enthusiastic and happy to be with their friends. Some of them were even more zealous as it was their first school trip ever! Our bus journey was through Yamuna expressway. The bus journey to Agra was full of enjoyment and fun as the children sang songs, played games and munched along the way. On the mid-way of the journey at around 10:00 a.m. the students were given snacks. We reached our hotel at 12:30 p.m. where we received warm welcome at the luxurious The GRANDHotel.There after Rooms were allotted and everyone settled into their respective rooms. This was followed by a sumptuous lunch. After lunch at 2:00 p.m. came the much awaited visit to magical allure of the Taj Mahal and massive Agra Fort where they learnt about the mughal rulers- Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. The students were amazed to know about the three wives of Akbar and were spellbound to see the architecture of the forts. The students listened to the guides in rapt attention, understanding the structure and design of Mughal architecture. They were intrigued and impressed with the stories and had many relevant questions to ask. After visiting the great monuments, the students relaxed in the hotel for some time. The first day ended with a hearty dinner at the hotel which was followed by DJ party organized by the hotel. Day 2: 1st October: After a delicious breakfast , the enthusiastic explorers set off for a visit to Fatehpur Sikri. His. We saw the world famous Buland Darwazather- its height is 176 feet. Second thing we saw in the city of Fatehpur Sikri was Tomb of Salim Chisti: At the tomb (Dargah) of renowed Sufi saint SalimChisti students offered prayers and were asked to make any wish by tying a thread which was a new experience for them. The tomb is well known for its delicate cravings and draws hundreds of pilgrims. Thirdly we saw Diwan-i-Khas- Hall: popularly known as the “Ekstambha Prasada”. The Diwan-i-Khas served as the royal chamber of Emperor Akbar and lastly we saw Panch Mahal, which is a five story building. It was meant to be the shelter of the royal ladies and mistresses. Our journey of Fatehpur Sikri ended around 2:00 p.m. even as our trip also ended but our energy never ended, so bus trip started towards back in Delhi. WE stopped at resort named “LAKE VIEW PALACE” where delicious lunch was arranged. After lunch we had non-stop journey towards Delhi to our school. Students along with the teachers reached school at 10:00 p.m. with lots of stories share with their parents. The students were so excited throughout the trip that they didn’t allow the heat to spoil the trip. The students enjoyed the short and sweet trip thoroughly and got to know a lot about one of the biggest empires of the country.
